A five-match T20I series begins on December 9, with India naming a balanced squad led by Suryakumar Yadav and supported by Shubman Gill as vice-captain.
India has finalised a 15-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20 series against South Africa. The selection committee has opted for a strong and well-balanced unit, combining proven match-winners with promising young players.
Suryakumar Yadav continues to lead the side after a successful stint as captain, while Shubman Gill has been retained as the vice-captain. Their leadership is expected to bring stability and aggression to the squad.

The batting group features Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma, who add youthful flair, along with seasoned all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube, strengthening the middle order. Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson have been included as the wicketkeeping options.
India’s bowling unit carries significant firepower with Jasprit Bumrah spearheading the attack. Varun Chakaravarthy’s spin skills, along with Kuldeep Yadav, add variety, while Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana provide pace depth. Washington Sundar’s all-round ability further enhances the squad’s balance.
The T20 series kicks off on December 9 and is expected to test India across different conditions in South Africa. The combination of youth and experience positions the team strongly for the five-match contest.
