Skipper Rohit Sharma’s explosive 100 and Virat Kohli’s composed fifty guided India to a commanding victory in the final ODI in Sydney, though Australia sealed the series 2-1.

In the final ODI at Sydney, India chased down a target of 237 with consummate ease, losing just one wicket to beat Australia and finish the match on a high. Australia, however, had already sealed the three-match series 2–1. The hosts were bowled out for 236 in 46.4 overs, with India’s bowlers reducing the opposition steadily.

Harshit Rana was the chief destroyer, claiming four wickets to dent Australia’s batting. Washington Sundar took two wickets while Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel picked one apiece to complete a balanced bowling performance.

India’s chase began solidly with openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill putting on 69 for the first wicket in 10.2 overs. Gill fell for 24 off 26 balls (1 six, 2 fours), but Rohit stayed on and produced a match-defining innings. Rohit scored a blistering unbeaten 121, striking 3 sixes and 13 fours at a strike rate of 96.80, anchoring the chase. Virat Kohli offered invaluable support with a responsible 71 off 81 balls, helping to keep the scoreboard moving.

The Rohit–Kohli partnership crushed Australian hopes and guided India past the target with comfort. The win highlighted India’s top-order firepower and bench strength in bowling, even as Australia had the upper hand in the series overall.
