Match after match, Punjab batter Abhishek Sharma is dominating T20 cricket with fearless hitting, record-breaking speed and unmatched six-hitting ability, leaving bowlers under constant pressure.

Abhishek Sharma is rapidly becoming one of the most feared batters in T20 cricket. With every match, the left-handed Punjab batter is not just scoring runs but dismantling long-standing records and redefining power-hitting in the shortest format of the game.

No matter who the opposition is or which bowler is operating, Abhishek’s approach remains the same, attack from ball one. Known for his explosive starts, he has earned a reputation as a deadly and dangerous T20 batter who puts bowlers on the back foot from the very first delivery.

Cricket fans have witnessed dominant top-order batters like Chris Gayle, David Warner and AB de Villiers rule T20 cricket over the years. However, Abhishek Sharma is now being seen as a batter who has taken that aggression a step further. His batting has made records lose relevance, as milestones are being reached at an unprecedented pace.

In the first T20 match against New Zealand, Abhishek achieved a historic milestone by becoming the fastest player to reach 5,000 T20 runs. He reached the mark in just 2,898 balls, surpassing the records of established stars such as Shubman Gill, Andre Russell, Tim David, Will Jacks and Glenn Maxwell.

Six-hitting has become Abhishek’s trademark. The young batter strikes a six every 7.75 balls, making him the most efficient six-hitter in T20 cricket. In comparison, Rinku Singh takes 10.59 balls per six, while Suryakumar Yadav needs 11.09 balls. Even power-hitters like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Yuvraj Singh trail behind Abhishek in this aspect.

During the Nagpur T20 against New Zealand, Abhishek smashed eight sixes in a single innings, a feat previously achieved by Rohit Sharma and Sanju Samson across three different matches. Abhishek has now gone a step ahead, hitting eight or more sixes once every four matches, shaking opposition bowling units.

Trained under former India star Yuvraj Singh, Abhishek has now outperformed his mentor statistically. While Yuvraj scored five T20 half-centuries at a strike rate above 200, Abhishek has achieved this six times, further highlighting his dominance.

With 81 sixes in just 33 T20 matches, Abhishek has entered the elite list of top six-hitters in the fewest games, alongside Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. Experts believe it is only a matter of time before he surpasses them all.

Overall, Abhishek Sharma is fast emerging as the new king of T20 cricket, with bowlers already feeling the pressure and fearing the impact of his explosive batting on their careers.
