During the meeting, the KBA leadership appreciated the Chief Minister’s leadership and the importance the state government has placed on sports development. They highlighted that KBA has a proud legacy of over seven decades, during which it has produced thousands of talented players who have brought recognition to Karnataka at national and international levels. The association cited legendary names such as Padma Shri Prakash Padukone and current international star Lakshya Sen as examples of this strong foundation.

The delegation explained that in today’s highly competitive global sports environment, young players need advanced infrastructure, scientific training methods, and comprehensive support systems to compete at the highest level. In this context, KBA requested government assistance for the expansion of its infrastructure, establishment of international-standard stadiums and training centres, and focused programmes to identify and nurture talent from district and rural areas.

President S. Kumar Bangarappa specifically requested the Chief Minister’s continued backing for the future growth of badminton at the grassroots level, ensuring that young talent from every part of Karnataka gets opportunities to develop and excel. The aim, the association said, is to help Karnataka emerge as a leading force in badminton nationally and globally.

The meeting was attended by KBA Secretary V. Muralidhar and members of the Executive Committee, who also shared details of ongoing efforts and future plans for the sport’s development across the state.
