Confusion over candidate eligibility forces the Karnataka State Cricket Association to delay its leadership polls.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has postponed its upcoming office-bearer elections following a dispute over the eligibility of candidates. The polls, originally scheduled for November 30, will now be held on December 30, according to a decision taken by the Election Officer.
The delay comes after confusion regarding who qualifies to contest key positions in the association. A case challenging the eligibility criteria was filed in court, prompting the Election Officer to halt the process until the legal issues are clarified. Candidates have been instructed to resolve the dispute in court and return once the matter is settled.

This election cycle has drawn significant attention as senior journalist K.N. Shanth Kumar, backed by the Brijesh Patel faction, was set to contest against former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad for the post of KSCA President. Both camps had already begun their campaigning, and preparations for voting were underway before the postponement was announced.
With the leadership contest now pushed back by a month, candidates and supporters will have to wait for the court’s direction before the race resumes.
