Bengaluru women lift their second WPL title after a thrilling chase, while Delhi Capitals suffer another heartbreak in the final.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s strong team performance once again delivered a title, as the women’s side lifted their second Women’s Premier League trophy, while Delhi Capitals faced the disappointment of losing a fourth consecutive final.
The victory further strengthened RCB’s growing legacy in franchise cricket. After the men’s team ended an 17-year wait for the IPL trophy last year in the 18th edition, the women’s team had already set the tone by winning the title in just their second season earlier. With this latest triumph, the Bengaluru franchise has now won trophies in three successive years across competitions, completing a rare hat-trick.
The Women’s Premier League final was played at the Kotambi Cricket Stadium in Vadodara. With this win, RCB equalled the record of Mumbai Indians, who have also won the WPL title twice.

Delhi Capitals, batting first after losing the toss, put up a strong total of 203 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs. The score put RCB under pressure, but the Bengaluru side responded with a calm and confident batting display.
Chasing 204, RCB reached the target in 19.4 overs, losing four wickets along the way to seal a memorable win. The chase highlighted the team’s depth and composure, which proved decisive in the high-pressure final.
Led by Smriti Mandhana, RCB had been dominant throughout the season. The team won five matches in the league stage and secured a direct entry into the final. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, endured an up-and-down campaign but fought their way into the final by defeating Gujarat Giants in the eliminator, marking their fourth straight appearance in a WPL final.
However, the title once again slipped away from Delhi, as they had to settle for the runners-up position for the fourth consecutive season. For RCB, the win was another statement of their rise as a powerhouse in women’s cricket.
