After claiming the IPL Season 18 title, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has already begun preparations for the 2026 season, signaling a period of strategic changes and suspense ahead of the mini auction. Among the top names in the spotlight is Liam Livingstone, RCB’s power hitter and game-changer. Despite his high expectations and a price of ₹10.75 crore, Livingstone scored just 112 runs in 10 matches with an economy of 8.44. With strong lower-order hitters like Tim David and Romario Shepherd in the squad, the management is contemplating his release to optimize the batting lineup.
Yash Dayal, who claimed only 13 wickets in 15 matches with an economy of 9.52 and faced controversies including a ban from the Uttar Pradesh T20, is also a strong contender for release. Similarly, mystery spinner Suyash Sharma underperformed with just 8 wickets from 14 matches, prompting RCB to reconsider his future in the squad.

Key batsmen like Mayank Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal delivered crucial contributions, though Agarwal may still face a release due to limited opportunities. Meanwhile, Rasik Dhar, the Jammu-Kashmir pacer, failed to live up to expectations with an economy of 11.67, and may also be released to free up space for fresh talent.
RCB’s management is carefully planning squad composition to retain the IPL champion title, balancing proven performers with potential new talent in the 2026 mini auction. Fans eagerly await announcements as the team navigates this high-stakes pre-season strategy.
