Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana quietly removes all wedding-related posts as her father and fiance face health issues, leading to the postponement of the ceremony.

A wave of speculation began online after Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana removed every wedding-related post from her Instagram account. The unexpected move drew immediate attention, especially because it came shortly after both her father, Shriniwas Mandhana, and fiance, music composer Palash Muchhal, were hospitalised. While Palash has since been discharged, Smriti’s father continues to be under medical supervision, though the family has stated that his condition is stable.

The deleted posts included her widely shared proposal video and other celebrations that recently dominated social media. Adding to the confusion, teammates Jemimah Rodrigues and Shreyanka Patil also took down the same viral proposal video from their profiles. The sudden absence of all the content prompted fans to flock to Palash Muchhal’s social media, questioning the reason behind the deletion and seeking clarity about the future of the wedding.

As per reports, many fans expressed concern, while others speculated whether the couple was attempting to avoid unwanted attention during a sensitive time. A segment of followers even suggested that the posts may have been removed to protect the families from negative attention or “nazar.”

Amid the growing online chatter, playback singer Palak Muchhal issued a statement requesting the public to respect the families’ privacy. According to the statement, the wedding, initially scheduled for November 23, has been put on hold due to Smriti’s father’s health. The family has clarified that the ceremony will take place only after his recovery. Smriti’s management also confirmed that she is firm about prioritising her father’s well-being before resuming any wedding plans, resulting in an indefinite postponement.
