Team India won their 6th U-19 World Cup, beating England by 100 runs in Harare. Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 175 powered India’s 411; England managed 311
Team India has once again stamped its dominance on the global stage, winning the Under-19 World Cup for the sixth time with a commanding victory over England in the final held in Harare. The young Indian side, led by captain Ayush Mahatre, remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and capped their campaign with a memorable triumph.
Batting first, India set a mammoth target of 411 runs, thanks to an explosive innings from Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The opener played a record-breaking knock of 175 runs, dismantling England’s bowling attack and laying the foundation for India’s massive total. The rest of the batting line-up contributed steadily, ensuring India posted one of the highest scores in an Under-19 World Cup final.
England, chasing what was described as a “mountain-high target,” struggled to find momentum. Wickets fell at regular intervals as India’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure. Despite a valiant century from Faulkner, England’s batting collapsed under the weight of the chase. They were eventually bowled out for 311 runs in 40.2 overs, falling short by 100 runs.

Interestingly, this was the first time India and England faced each other in the tournament, as they had been placed in different groups. Meeting directly in the final, England found themselves overwhelmed by India’s strong batting and disciplined bowling.
With this victory, India has lifted the Under-19 World Cup trophy for the sixth time, further solidifying its reputation as a powerhouse in youth cricket. The team’s unbeaten run throughout the tournament reflects not only their talent but also their resilience and teamwork.
The triumph in Harare will be remembered as a landmark moment for Indian cricket, showcasing the depth of talent in the country’s youth ranks and offering a glimpse of future stars ready to shine on the international stage
