Australia’s sharp bowling attack dismantled India’s batting order, handing the visitors a heavy defeat in the second T20 match. Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana were the only saving graces for India.
Team India suffered a major setback in the second T20 match against Australia after a poor batting performance led to a crushing defeat. Winning the toss, Australia opted to field first, a decision that worked perfectly as their bowlers dominated from the very start.
India’s top order collapsed within the first few overs. At just 2.4 overs, with 20 runs on the board, Shubman Gill fell for 5 runs, setting off a domino effect. Sanju Samson followed soon after, managing only 2 runs, while captain Suryakumar Yadav departed for a single run.

The middle order offered no resistance, with Tilak Varma, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah all returning to the pavilion without scoring.
However, it was Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana who restored some pride for India. Abhishek played a gutsy innings of 68 runs off 37 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 8 fours at a strike rate of 183.78. Harshit Rana added a crucial 35 runs from 33 deliveries, striking 1 six and 3 boundaries.
Despite their efforts, India was bowled out for 125 runs in 18.4 overs.
Chasing 126, Australia started confidently. Mitchell Marsh scored 46 runs, while Travis Head and Josh Inglis contributed 28 and 20 runs, respectively.
Although India’s bowlers, Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, and Varun Chakravarthy, picked up two wickets each, it wasn’t enough to stop the Australian side, who comfortably reached the target with six wickets remaining.
