KSET exam on November 2: Facial recognition and CCTV surveillance to ensure transparency

Over 1.36 lakh candidates will appear for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) on Sunday across 316 centres in 11 districts, with strict monitoring through cameras and facial recognition technology.

The Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) for college lecturer and assistant professor eligibility will be conducted on November 2 (Sunday) across 316 examination centres in 11 districts. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced extensive security measures, including facial recognition technology and CCTV surveillance, to ensure fair conduct.

According to KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna, around 1.36 lakh candidates have registered for the exam, which will be held in 33 subjects. While Bengaluru will host exams for all 33 subjects, the remaining 10 districts, Ballari, Belagavi, Davangere, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, and Vijayapura, will conduct tests for 11 subjects.

The exam will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with candidates receiving both Paper 1 (General Knowledge) and Paper 2 (Subject-specific) question papers simultaneously. Paper 1 carries 100 marks, while Paper 2 carries 200 marks. Candidates must record their answers carefully on separate OMR sheets provided for each paper.

KEA has made the dress code mandatory, and candidates are instructed to follow all examination rules strictly. The use of facial recognition aims to verify candidate identity, while CCTV cameras will ensure close monitoring of all centres.

Authorities have urged candidates to reach their respective centres well in advance to avoid last-minute delays.
