KSCA says police permission for hosting Vijay Hazare matches at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is currently not granted, citing pending implementation of Justice Cunha Committee recommendations; matches moved to BCCI Centre of Excellence in Devanahalli.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has confirmed that permission to conduct Vijay Hazare Trophy matches at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has not been granted by police authorities at present. The decision follows the recommendations of the Review Committee, which has linked approval to the full implementation of the Justice Cunha Committee guidelines.

In an official statement, KSCA said it has been informed by the police that the request to host matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium is “not finding favour” at this stage. As a result, the Vijay Hazare Trophy fixtures have been shifted to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (formerly NCA) in Devanahalli.

The association acknowledged the support extended by the Karnataka Government, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara, for taking up the matter at the Cabinet level. KSCA stated that it understands the concerns raised by authorities, particularly regarding safety, security, and infrastructure compliance.

KSCA also pointed out that police communications since August 2025 regarding the Justice Cunha Committee recommendations had not been adequately addressed by the previous managing committee. The newly elected committee, led by former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad, which took charge on December 8, 2025, has initiated immediate engagement with government departments and statutory bodies.

The association appreciated the Home Minister for convening a joint meeting with KSCA office bearers and directing agencies to inspect the stadium and submit reports. KSCA said it is awaiting detailed observations from the Review Committee and has assured authorities that all recommendations will be implemented in a structured and time-bound manner.

KSCA reiterated its commitment to improving safety and infrastructure standards and expressed confidence that permissions to host matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium could be considered in the future once all requirements are met.
