After losing the toss, Australia chose to bat first and posted a strong total of 186 for 6 in 20 overs. The top order played well, keeping India’s bowlers on their toes. However, India’s bowling attack, led by Arshdeep Singh, managed to keep the total within reach. Arshdeep took three wickets, while Varun Chakravarthy picked up two, and Shivam Dube claimed one wicket, ensuring that Australia didn’t cross the 200-run mark.
Chasing a target of 187 runs, India had a shaky start, losing wickets at regular intervals. But it was Washington Sundar’s brilliant unbeaten 49 off just 23 balls, with four sixes and three boundaries, that turned the game around. His strike rate of 213.4 kept India’s hopes alive when it seemed the team was under pressure. Sundar remained calm and confident till the end, guiding India home in just 18.3 overs with five wickets in hand.
