In a surprising turn at the box office, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 has crossed the ₹500 crore mark in India by the end of its third weekend, putting it head-to-head with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. The film has not only impressed audiences but also left trade analysts astounded with its performance.

The sequel to the 2018 hit Stree saw an impressive first week, earning ₹307.80 crore, including preview show collections. The momentum continued in the second week with ₹145.80 crore, followed by a strong third weekend. On its third Friday, the film earned ₹9.25 crore, followed by ₹17.40 crore on Saturday and ₹22.10 crore on Sunday, bringing the weekend total to ₹48.75 crore.

Remarkably, Stree 2's third-weekend numbers surpassed those of Prabhas-starrer Baahubali 2's Hindi version, which had earned ₹42.55 crore in the same period. With a total domestic collection now standing at ₹502.35 crore, the film is expected to breach the ₹600 crore mark.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted, "Stree 2 is not slowing down and could very well challenge the lifetime business of Jawan, potentially becoming the highest-grossing film in Hindi cinema."

Directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, Stree 2 is part of the Maddock Supernatural Universe and was released on Independence Day 2024, alongside Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa.
