Suchana refused to take responsibility for Chinmay’s death

Venkat claimed that Suchana prevented Chinmay from meeting him for one month

A court ruling in November granted Venkat visiting rights each Sunday

Venkat Raman, husband of Suchana Seth accused of killing her son Chinmay, deposed before the Goa police in relation to the circumstances leading to his son Chimay’s death. He stated that Suchana had violated her court order and prevented Chinmay from his father on 5 consecutive Sundays. The two even had a 20-minute interaction which reportedly led to a heated confrontation in which Suchana refused to take responsibility for Chinmay’s death. Speaking to reporters, Venkat’s lawyer Azhar Meer said, “He has gone completely numb. His family is gone. His wife is in jail, his son is dead. What justice should he expect? What justice can be given? He can die for his son but will now have to live without him. My client has no claim for justice for himself or the child, who is no more.”

Venkat Raman provided a 4-page statement providing a detailed timeline of the changes in his relationship with Suchana before Chinmay’s death. He speculated that Suchana was upset at the court rulings leaning in Venkat’ favour. A court ruling in November granted Venkat visiting rights each Sunday at home from morning to evening. However Venkat was unable to meet Chinmay after December 10th. “On January 6th, Suchana wrote an email to Venkat asking him to come to Sadashiv Nagar in Bengaluru and pick up his son from there on Sunday. He had gone there at 10am and waited for one hour before returning home. Later that evening, he left for Indonesia for work. He sent a message to Suchana but got no reply,” Meer mentioned.
