Supreme Court advises IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri and IPS Officer D Roopa to mutually resolve their conflict

    The court reminded them of their bright future

The Supreme Court advised Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Rohini Sindhuri and Indian Police Service (IPS) officer D.Roopa to resolve their conflict. The Supreme Court looked into the case that emerged as a result of their public spat. A 2-judge bench that included Justice Abhay Shreenivas Okha and Justice Ujjal Buyan heard the case on May 7th. A criminal defamation case was filed by Rohini against Roopa over her social media posts targeting her.

The court observed that both are public servants that people will look up to and hence such conduct has to be avoided. The court reminded them of the bright future the officials have. They were cautioned about the consequences of their fight after their retirement. Whether the petition will be withdrawn in light of this advice remains to be seen.
