Creators can now translate their Reels between English, Hindi, Portuguese, and Spanish using AI, complete with voice and lip-syncing for a natural feel.
Meta has expanded its AI Translate feature on Instagram and Facebook Reels, now supporting Hindi and Portuguese in addition to English and Spanish. The update allows creators to translate their content across these four major languages, helping them reach a wider global audience.
The AI-powered translation not only converts the language but also mimics the creator’s voice and tone, creating a natural and authentic experience. For an added touch, the lip-syncing feature aligns the audio with the creator’s mouth movements, making the translations appear seamless.

Meta clarified that translated Reels will not be shown automatically to users who prefer the original language. Viewers can choose to watch the content in its original version, and all AI-translated clips will carry the “Translated with Meta AI” label for transparency.
However, the feature is currently limited to public Instagram profiles and Facebook creators with over 1,000 followers. Creators must manually select the translate option before uploading a Reel, and can review the translated version before posting.

Meta highlighted that the four supported languages cover the largest markets for Instagram and Facebook, enabling creators to expand their reach globally. The company described AI Translate as one of several innovations, alongside its AI-only content feed “Vibes” on the Meta AI app, which allows users to share and interact with AI-generated videos.
With this update, creators on Meta platforms can now connect with audiences worldwide while retaining the authenticity and personality of their original content.
