    Telangana cops seize MMC valued at Rs 9 crore

    The drug is very popular among recreational users

    It is classified as metaphedrone under the NDPS Act, 1985

Telangana Drugs Control Administration, in collaboration with the Prohibition and Excise Department, uncovered an illegal drug manufacturing facility in Sangareddy district.

They confiscated 90.48 kg of 3-methylmethcathinone, known as 3-MMC or metaphedrone, valued at Rs 8.99 crore, from PSN Medicare Private Ltd at IDA Bollaram. 

The drug, popular among recreational users, was being produced in bulk and exported to Europe. During the raid, officials discovered the manufacturing process under coded names, notably ‘YLV01’, lacking proper documentation. They seized 90.46 kg of ‘YLV01’ powder. Investigations revealed that ‘YLV01’ was chemically 

‘2-(methylamino)-1-(3-methylphenyl)propan-1-one’, a substance classified as metaphedrone under the NDPS Act, 1985. PSN Medicare’s Director, Kasthur Reddy Nemallapudi, received orders from various foreign countries and conducted sales transactions related to the illicit material. The operation underscores the authorities’ vigilance against illegal drug trafficking and manufacturing activities.
