Prithviraj Sukumaran indeed does a phenomenal job!
The movie proceeds on an emotional rollercoaster ride
The movie is one time watch movie and worth a national award
Having put in 16 years into a movie, naturally the expectations have been really high. Prithviraj Sukumaran doesn’t fail to impress you even in a single scene. He’s not just got into the skin of the character but heart into the heart and soul of it.
The movie begins with the character Najeeb landing up in Saudi Arabia along with his companion Hakeem. Not knowing any other language, they easily get trapped into slavery. Then on, Najeeb’s journey begins exposing the ruggedness or the brutalness of the desert.

The first half shows his compulsion to adapt to slavery. The flashback of life and family back in his town is also shown. This adds all colour to the movie which is otherwise just a white and brown movie.
The movie proceeds on an emotional rollercoaster ride with Najeeb trying to survive his horrendous life of torture and how he tries to escape, forms the plot. As you watch you realise it is a bit slow paced movie.
Apart from this, full credit should be given to the make-up artist who makes the character look way too natural. And of course, the cinematographer has done a stunning job in capturing either the parched lips or the thirsty stiff tongue or the never ending deserts.
All in all the movie is one time watch movie and worth a national award. It showcases the urge of humans to live-on braving all odds….sometimes survival itself means everything.
