Bengaluru witnessed a shocking incident on Saturday morning when four employees of a BPO were abducted in Koramangala. The crime unfolded at the Global Telecom Connect office, where kidnappers tricked the staff into leaving the building by claiming police officers were waiting outside.

Once the employees stepped out, they were forced into vehicles and taken away. The abductors demanded a ransom of ₹18.9 lakh, compelling one victim to transfer money into a relative’s account while also pressing for cash payments.

The alarm was raised when a distress call was made to emergency helpline 112. Swift action followed, with police teams tracking the suspects’ movements across the city. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Sarah Fathima confirmed that coordinated efforts led to the arrest of eight individuals involved in the operation. Two vehicles used in the abduction were also seized.

Authorities have registered a case of kidnapping for ransom, and further investigation is underway to uncover additional links and motives. The incident has sparked concerns over employee safety in Bengaluru’s tech hubs, highlighting the need for stronger workplace security measures.
