    Arun Govil, among others, cast of Ramayan series visited Ayodhya

    The Ramayan series was aired in 1987

The cast of the famous Ramayana series that was telecast in the late 1980s paid a visit to Ayodhya where the pran pratishtha will take place. 

The actors  are Arun Govil, Sunil Lahiri, and Deepika Chikhalia. 

Arun Govil, who portrayed Lord Ram’s character, even put out a tweet during his visit. He said, “Took Prasad of Makar Sankranti Khichdi from Bhandara in Ayodhya ji. According to beliefs, the new paddy crop in North India is ready during these days. There is a tradition of eating new rice khichdi by offering it to Lord Surya.” 

He also became nostalgic as he expressed his glee at the way the Ram Mandir inauguration is taking place. Adding that he is blessed that the event is taking place during his lifetime, he underlined the energy and emotion related to the function. He also said that the event will give a lot of positive vibes to the country. 

He also urged everyone to read the Ramayana as it would give them a lot of knowledge about India’s culture. 

Deepika Chikhalia, who played the role of Sita, also noted that their image has settled in the hearts of people for eternity. 

The first episode of the Ramayan series was telecast on January 25, 1987 on DD and had 78 episodes in all.
