UK barber got "marry me" tattoo on his thigh to propose his girlfriend

The tattoo, spanning 10 inches, features cartoon versions of the couple

Girlfriend accepted his proposal and said tattoo made it even more special

Do you believe marriage is a commitment? Recently, a UK barber took an unconventional approach to proposing to his girlfriend by getting a giant “marry me” thigh tattoo, making the proposal with his pants down.

Joe Murray, 33, from Derbyshire, wanted to propose to his girlfriend of three years, Sara Graham, 36, in a more memorable way than the traditional method. Being lovers of tattoos, Murray decided to pop the question through body art. Inspired by videos he had seen online, he collaborated with Ant Payne-Wright, the owner of Liberty Ink Tattoo in Inkersall, Derbyshire, to make his idea a reality.

The tattoo, spanning 10 inches, features cartoon versions of the couple on Murray’s upper-left thigh, along with the words “Marry me then…” and “yes or no” boxes beneath. Surprisingly, Graham said “yes,” and with Payne-Wright’s permission, she used a tattoo gun to mark the “yes” box on her future husband’s leg.

Reflecting on the proposal, Graham admitted it was a shock, but the opportunity to tattoo it herself made it even more special. She expressed that it was a lovely moment she would cherish forever — although she humourously noted that it’s now a permanent fixture on Murray’s body.
