The suicide of Chandrasekaran P, a superintendent at the  Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Ltd has put the Karnataka government in a spot of bother.  

As per reports, he died by suicide due as he did not withstand pressure in a misappropriation bid amounting to Rs 87 crore.

Once the news spread, the bank involved in the entire episode wrote to the CBI, seeking a thorough investigation to unearth the scam. Taking note of it, the Karnataka government formed an SIT to hold its own probe. NewsFirst learns that the move by the government is an attempt to thwart the CBI probe into it. 

Now, as this development unfolds, the victim’s wife Kavita who spoke to NewsFirst exclusively said, “I want the ones who are arrested in this regard to be punished. I am extremely pained at what has happened.” 

On the issue of the CBI probe, she said, “A CBI probe will help unearth the scam. I don’t want an SIT probe into it. I want justice. I will fight it till the end. I think all the higher ups are involved in it. I don’t trust the SIT. What was the government doing when such a huge amount was being transferred? Is the minister concerned so innocent as to not know of it?”
