The 10,000th vehicle, an all-electric XC40 Recharge SUV, symbolizes a noteworthy moment for the Swedish automaker.
Assembly operations began in 2017, with the XC90 XUV being the inaugural model to roll off the factory line. The facility, located in Hoskote near Bengaluru, has been instrumental in the production of various Volvo models. The XC60 takes the lead with over 4,000 units manufactured to date.
Volvo Car India’s commitment to the Indian luxury mobility segment is exemplified by the local assembly of all its models in the country, including the XC90, XC60, S90, XC40 Recharge, and the recently launched C40 Recharge. Despite the challenges posed by nearly three years of pandemic disruptions, the company’s steady capacity increase in Bengaluru reflects its dedication to the Indian market.
