Naveen Gowda has come under SIT’s radar
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has begun proceedings in the case pertaining to the leaked videos supposedly belonging to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Hassan Prajwal Revanna. The SIT is dealing with 4 aspects pertaining to the case.
Firstly, the First Information Report (FIR) of the case filed in the Holesanpura Police Station would be the main focus. A statement of the complainant has been taken. The spot wherein the crime is alleged to have occurred is being examined. An interrogation of the suspects will also be conducted.
Secondly, the source of the viral video has been identified as emerging from the pen drive of the family’s driver Karthik. The pendrive is also believed to contain a video of the complainant. The SIT has its eyes on Karthik.
Thirdly, who made the video viral will also be deducted by the SIT. Karthik and the lawyer from BJP Deveraje Gowda have both admitted to be in possession of the videos. Both have however denied having a role in circulating the videos. They will have to face a SIT enquiry. Whether the videos were uploaded on a system before being put in a pendrive will also be looked into. Karthik’s residence will be examined by the SIT. Whether the videos exist on other devices will be seen. Mobile phones may be confiscated for examination.
Lastly, a man named Naveen Gowda who made posts in Facebook claiming to be in possession of videos that he would later release has come under the SIT’s radar. A case has been filed against him in the Cyber Economic and Narcotics Crime Police Station in Hassan. He has however denied having any connection with the case or being in possession of any pen drive.
