In the investigations that are going on, the investigators had expressed apprehensions that the attacks may have been carried out by sleeper cells. 

Now, as the probe continues, they have newer apprehensions. They believe it could also have been a ‘lone-wolf’ attack. 

What is a ‘lone-wolf’ attack? 

It is an attack, conceived, and carried out by a single individual, with no support from any terror organisation. The reasons can vary from personal grievances, ideological beliefs and even getting attention.

Police in touch with Telangana, Maharashtra counterparts 

The police who are investigating the case are in touch with special terror teams in Telangana and Maharashtra. 

The blasts are a real challenge for the police as the suspect had planned it meticulously and designed his escape route cleverly. 

New modus operandi

Sources also inform us that the modus operandi of keeping explosives in a bag is a first. Traditionally, such explosives are kept in cookers and tiffin boxes. However, placing it in such bags leads to a lessening of intensity.
