Darshan's fans had attacked Puneeth Rajkumar's wife online

They had targeted her for RCB's poor performance

Several had come in support of her

In what had come as a disturbing development, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar had been subjected to online abuse by a section of netizens following the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) poor performance during the earlier IPL season. Ashwini had attended the RCB’s Unbox event in Bengaluru on March 19, which led some to target her, absurdly blaming her for bringing bad luck to the team.

The online harassment didn’t stop there. Ashwini had also been unfairly criticized for the underwhelming performance of Yuva Rajkumar’s debut movie, ‘Yuva’, which failed to make a significant impact at the box office last week. In addition, she had faced backlash for purchasing a new car recently, with many of these derogatory comments coming from users claiming to be fans of Kannada actor Darshan.

The baseless attacks had raised concerns about the toxic behavior exhibited by certain segments of the fan community. The targeting of Ashwini for issues unrelated to her actions highlighted a troubling trend of online abuse against public figures, often perpetuated by fans of rival celebrities.

Supporters of Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and the broader community had condemned the abuse, calling for more responsible and respectful behavior online. The incident had underscored the need for greater accountability on social media platforms to prevent such harassment and protect individuals from unwarranted attacks.
