Coercion is what was used to make former Chairman of SBI Shri RK Talwar resign: Nirmala

SBI has been the frontal organisation of the Modi Sarkar in trying to cover up the Electoral Bond Scam: Jairam

During a discussion regarding the Atal Pension Yojana, Minister of Finance of India Nirmala Sitharaman made a reference to the resignation of former Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI) Shri RK Talwar to attack the Indian National Congress. “Jairam Ramesh says that people are being “hoodwinked and coerced” into participating in the Atal Pension Yojana. Hoodwinking is what INC does always— in the name of vote bank politics or minority appeasement. Coercion is what was used to make former Chairman of SBI Shri RK Talwar resign because he refused to give loans to favourites of the dynasty,” Nirmala stated on X (formerly known as X).

In response, the General Secretary in-charge Communications for INC Jairam Ramesh levelled a series of charges at SBI including lying in the Supreme Court. “We’re glad the FM brought up the pressing issue of the Government coercing the SBI. It’s topical right now, since the SBI has been the frontal organisation of the Modi Sarkar in trying to cover up the Electoral Bond Scam. Earlier, the SBI failed to disclose that it had alphanumeric codes on electoral bonds. Then, they lied to the Court saying that they would have to use the date of purchase to link each electoral bond to the recipient party. Finally, they claimed that they would need 3 months time to link the donors and the beneficiary political parties. A simple 9-line Python code does the matching in under 15 seconds. Why did the SBI, which reports to the Finance Minister, lie about this in the Supreme Court repeatedly?,” Jairam remarked.
