With the highly anticipated release of Singham Again in November 2024, Deepika Padukone is on the verge of making history as the only Indian actress to cross ₹1000 crore in India net box office earnings within a single year. Already in 2024, Deepika has appeared in two major films: Fighter and Kalki 2898 AD.

While Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Hrithik Roshan, garnered ₹205 crore in India net collections, its high production costs prevented it from being a runaway hit. In contrast, Kalki 2898 AD was a massive success, earning ₹650 crore net in India and becoming the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
So far, Deepika's 2024 films have collectively grossed approximately ₹855 crore. With Singham Again expected to perform well—projected to earn at least ₹400 crore net in India—Deepika could surpass ₹1000 crore in box office earnings this year. The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, marks her debut as a female cop in the Singham franchise, and with a star-studded ensemble cast that includes Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Ranveer Singh, expectations are high for its success. The film is set to release on November 1, 2024, during the Diwali festival, facing competition from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
If successful, Deepika will join Shah Rukh Khan as the only actors to achieve ₹1000 crore net in 12 months, with SRK having achieved over ₹1400 crore in 2023 with Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. Deepika's achievements this year underscore her growing dominance in Indian cinema.
