HD Kumaraswamy may be made the Union agriculture minister

He is flying to Delhi on January 15 or 16

He is set to take oath on January 17

With growing proximity between the JD(S) and the BJP, it is learnt that former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy may be inducted into the Central ministry.

It is learnt that the former CM may be given the portfolio of Union agriculture minister. If everything goes well, he will be taking the oath on January 17.

Sources further inform NewsFirst Prime that Kumaraswamy would be flying to New Delhi on January 15 or 16 to finalise talks.

Presently, Arjun Munda holds the portfolio.

The JDS and the BJP formally got into an alliance last September and became a part of the NDA. Kumaraswamy himself had met Union home minister Amit Shah in this regard and finalised the deal.

The alliance of the two will go a long way in catching the Lingayat and Vokkaliga votes as they form the dominant castes numerically in the state.
