This seems to be someone just “free-riding” on our brand: Deepinder Goyal
A viral video featured a model riding a Yamaha R 15V3 on the streets of Indore wearing a Zomato T-shirt. The bike was observed in the Vijaynagar area of Indore. “Indore Zomato marketing head had this idea. He hired a model to drive around with an empty zomato bag for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening. zomato is on a roll,” a user had posted on X (formerly known as Twitter)

“Maybe they were not getting enough riders. So he thought of glamorising this. Good idea,” a user remarked in response to the post.
“Reminds me of the old cigarette ads with the ‘all flash, no show’ tactic. Clever marketing by Zomato, but let’s be real, everyone’s eyes were on the model more than the bag!” another user stated.
Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato however clarified that this rumour is misleading. “Hey! We had absolutely nothing to do with this. We don’t endorse helmet-less biking. Also, we don’t have an “Indore Marketing Head”. This seems to be someone just “free-riding” on our brand. Having said that, there’s nothing wrong with women delivering food – we have hundreds of women who deliver food everyday to earn a livelihood for their families, and we are proud of their work ethic,” he stated.
