Incident surfaced from Hyderabad
Long queue in petrol bunk left Zomato partner with no choice
Truck driver protest resulted in long queues
Zomato delivery partners have been observed to skip traffic lights and indulge in overspeeding in order to ensure the on-time of the food items. However, an incident of one of the delivery partners taking this commitment to a whole different level has surfaced.
In a video that has now gone viral, a Zomato delivery partner in Hyderabad can be seen fulfilling his delivery by riding a horse. One of the passersby enquired with him the reason for him to do so. “Petrol nahi mila bhai. Teen ghante line me khada raha. Zomato se nikal gaya..petrol nahi mila.(There was no petrol. I waited in the queue for three hours. I left after taking the order but couldn’t get the petrol),” he replied.

The reason for the long queue is speculated to be fear among citizens after lorry drivers announced a protest to demonstrate their opposition to a newly passed bill which stipulated 10 years of imprisonment for hit and run cases wherein the victim does not receive immediate care. “Fuel availability is there. People are apprehensive that due to the agitation by truck drivers, it may not be available and they are going to petrol pumps in large numbers, following which queues were formed and subsequently spilled over to the roads resulting in traffic jams initially,” a senior police official stated.
