The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made significant progress in the investigation of the Rameshwaram Café Blast that occurred on March 1st, 2024, at ITPL Road, Whitefield, Bengaluru (RC-01/2024/NIA/BLR).
According to NIA sources, the primary suspect in the IED blast has been identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazib, with Abdul Matheen Taahaa identified as his co-conspirator. Both suspects hail from Thirthahalli, Shivamogga District.
Additionally, Muzammil Shareef, a resident of Khalsa, Chikkamagaluru, was arrested on March 26th, 2024, for allegedly providing logistical support to the main accused. Shareef was interrogated while in police custody.
In an effort to apprehend the absconding suspects, NIA conducted searches at 18 locations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. Rewards of rupees Ten Lakhs each have been declared for any information leading to the arrest of the fugitives.
NIA has been diligently gathering evidence and information by summoning and examining acquaintances, including friends from the suspects’ school and college days. Authorities emphasize the importance of cooperation from the public in bringing the absconding suspects to justice.
Given the sensitive nature of the case, NIA has urged caution in sharing information that could compromise the safety of witnesses or hinder the ongoing investigation. They also warn against the dissemination of unverified news items that could impede progress.
