In light of the polling in the 4 constituencies in Bengaluru on 26th April, a prohibitory order will be in place starting from 24th April. The order will be valid from 6 AM on 24th April until 11:59 pm oN 26th April. The Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner KA Dayanand has passed the order. Similar order will be in place starting from 6 AM on June 4th until 11:59 PM on June 6th in light of the counting of votes in this period.
Not more than 5 people can gather at a place during this period. Public meetings cannot be held when the order is in place. A similar restriction also exists with respect to ceremonies that might be conducted. Cyber cafes, photocopy shops and book stalls will not be allowed to function within a 100 metre radius of the polling stations. Usage of mobile phones within a 100 metre radius of Election Commission officials isn’t allowed either. This extends to other electronic items as well. Posters, banners and other audio material that contain election propaganda will not be entertained. A violation of these restrictions will result in stringent action being taken against the violator.
