Monica planned on stealing the jewellery when Divya was taking a bath. Divya however did not remove her jewellery in front of Monica. This forced Monica to strangle Divya to death. She pledged the jewellery to make some quick cash. During the police enquiry, Monica stated that Rs 60,000 was also missing from her house. However, Monica hadn’t paid her rent for 2 months which made the police wonder why she wouldn’t if she had Rs 60,000 at her disposal. When they looked into the jewellery shop, they uncovered that Monica had pledged the jewellery and hence had her arrested.
