Students from the Sarakki school are reported to have been injured in the fight

Parents have claimed that the students’ Aadhar cards were confiscated

Parents claim police did not have videographic evidence to identify the culprits

5 students scheduled to write the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations faced a setback.

On the day of the exam, a fight broke over a very trivial matter. There was a conflict over the placement of bags outside the exam centre. Students belonging to 2 different schools were engaged in the conflict. One set of students were from a school in the Sarakki region of Bengaluru whereas the other were from a school in the Ragigudda region of Bengaluru. The students were apparently dissatisfied that the bags were placed close to each other. Students from the Sarakki school are reported to have been injured in the process. They had to be shifted to a hospital owing to injuries to their head. 5 students of the school in Ragigudda were arrested. On account of being minors they were shifted.

The parents of the arrested children have not expressed their outrage at the police department. They have claimed that they were not given accurate or prior information about their arrest. They have claimed that the students’ Aadhar cards were confiscated before being escorted to the station. They have also stated that the students have been made to sign on certain documents. They claim that their preparations for the examination have been affected as a result of this.

The parents have claimed that the police officials arrived one hour late to the school. They did not have CCTV visuals or videographic evidence to identify the culprits and arrested students merely on the basis of their uniforms.
