Bengaluru: Residence of former Mayor robbed of valuables worth Rs 1.29 crore

    Security guard Narabahadur Shaayi is absconding

The residence of Former Mayor of Bengaluru R.Narayanaswamy has been robbed of items worth more than Rs 1 crore. This included valuables and cash. The incident occurred in 2nd stage RMV Layout in Sanjay Nagar. The security guard of the premises is being suspected for having carried out this act. 

The security guard Narabahadur Shaayi is currently absconding. The lockers inside the house were opened at a time when none of the family members of Narayanaswamy were present.  1425 grams of gold amounting to Rs 99.75 lakh, 22 kgs of silver amounting to Rs 18.92 lakh, 3 watches amounting to Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 4 lakh were stolen. 

It is being reported that Nsrayanswamy had visited a temple along with his family in Tamil Nadu. He was also involved in campaigning for elections. He is said to have found the door of his house ajar and Shaayi unresponsive to phone calls upon returning.

A complaint with regard to this incident was filed in the Sanjay Nagar Police Station. Efforts to nab Narabahadur is underway.
