The deceased woman has been identified as Kavya, who was married to Rangaswami. The couple also has a four-year-old son.

According to reports, the dispute began when sambhar that had been prepared three days earlier was served again during meals. The husband reportedly expressed his dissatisfaction about the same dish being served repeatedly for both lunch and dinner.

This objection led to a heated argument between the couple inside their home.

During the confrontation, Rangaswami allegedly abused Kavya verbally and is also said to have attempted to hit her during the quarrel.

Family members soon noticed that she started vomiting, which raised alarm among those present at home.
