In a major anti-encroachment operation, the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has recovered government land worth ₹12.3 crore in BTM 1st Stage, demolishing unauthorised sheds and compounds as part of its ongoing citywide reclamation drive.

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on Monday recovered a prime parcel of land worth ₹12.3 crore in BTM 1st Stage, Bengaluru, during a major anti-encroachment operation.

According to officials, the reclaimed land measuring 6,629 square feet was located in Survey No. 50 of Tavarekere village, Begur Hobli, Bengaluru South taluk. Several unauthorised sheds and compound walls had been illegally built on the government property.

The BDA’s task force, led by the Executive Engineer (South Division), carried out the demolition drive with assistance from local police. The encroachments were completely cleared, restoring the land to BDA’s control.

The BDA has intensified its vigilance and enforcement activities in high-value urban areas such as BTM Layout, HSR Layout, and Koramangala, where several government plots have been found under unauthorised occupation.

Officials confirmed that multiple such recovery operations are underway, aimed at restoring valuable public property and ensuring proper land use in Bengaluru’s rapidly expanding neighbourhoods.

The crackdown marks a renewed effort by the BDA to safeguard civic land from illegal encroachments, especially in commercially significant zones prone to unauthorised development.
