  • Constable detained for allegedly coaching robbery gang
  • Multi-state search by 200 personnel, 5 special teams
  • Stolen cash still missing despite recovery of the Inova car

A constable is now under investigation for allegedly coaching the gang, while a massive multi-state search continues for the missing cash.

The investigation into the ₹7 crore robbery in Bengaluru has taken a dramatic turn with police detaining a constable from Govindapura station on suspicion of guiding the gang involved in the crime. Preliminary inputs indicate that the constable may have instructed the group on how to execute the robbery, evade detection and anticipate police investigation methods. Officers have now taken him into custody for detailed questioning as part of the expanding probe.

Meanwhile, the operation to track down the accused has intensified. A major search effort involving three DCPs and nearly 200 police personnel is underway. Five special teams, each led by an inspector, are conducting coordinated searches across Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Investigators have so far reviewed more than 1,500 CCTV footages and analysed over 2,000 phone calls and tower dumps as they attempt to piece together the movements of the suspects.

Robbers’s strategy comes to light!

The gang’s strategy has now come to light. The robbery was carried out in an area without CCTV coverage. After fleeing with the cash in an Innova car, the group distributed the money at another location with no camera surveillance. They later shifted the cash into a different vehicle before dispersing. Their route covered multiple locations including Domlur, Bhattarahalli, Hosur Road and Attibele before heading towards Chittoor.

When the police team trailing the Innova reached the final spot, they recovered the vehicle but not the stolen money. While two suspects have been traced along with the car, the cash itself remains missing, becoming the most challenging part of the investigation.
