A dramatic ₹7.11-crore robbery on the Diary Circle flyover has uncovered a network with roots in Andhra Pradesh, as police trace the getaway vehicle and detain key suspects.

Bengaluru was shaken on November 19 after a cinematic daytime robbery unfolded on the Dairy Circle flyover, where a staggering ₹7.11 crore was snatched in the middle of the road. Initial suspicion pointed toward an interstate gang, and the ongoing investigation has now brought clear evidence to light.

Within a day of the incident, city police tracked the getaway vehicle, an Innova, to Gudipalli in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. The abandoned vehicle provided crucial clues, enabling investigators to map the movements of the robbers soon after the heist.

The Innova’s engine and chassis numbers became the turning point in the case. Using these identifiers, police traced the chain of ownership and detained two men from Govindapura who had supplied the vehicle used in the robbery. Further inquiry revealed that the pair had purchased the car from its previous owner, whose statement confirmed the sale and helped police reconstruct the trail.

Preliminary findings now confirm that the robbers are natives of Chittoor. After committing the heist, the gang fled towards Andhra Pradesh and left the vehicle behind before dispersing. Investigators are currently questioning the detained individuals to determine whether the vehicle was knowingly provided for the crime or if they had prior information about the gang’s plan.

The probe is also focusing on whether the suspects played any role beyond supplying the car, as well as examining possible involvement in planning, support, or sheltering the robbers.

With local police working alongside their counterparts in Chittoor, a coordinated effort is underway to locate the remaining members of the gang. The swift progress made within 24 hours has increased confidence that the full network will soon be exposed.
