The woman explained that her mother and brother suffered injuries in a scooter accident. While the injuries were not life-threatening, her mother was temporarily immobile due to fractures and required assistance with daily activities. The employee submitted MRI scans, medical documents, and a police report to justify her request for a work-from-home arrangement.

Despite this, the employer reportedly refused the request, citing “low bandwidth” in the team. Adding to the controversy, the man involved in the accident was only granted two days of leave before being asked to return to work.

This incident has reignited discussions on employee welfare, flexible work policies, and the need for empathy in corporate environments, especially when remote work is a feasible option.
