One night of heavy rain was all it took, potholes turned into ponds, roads became rivers, and Bengaluru’s Silicon City woke up in chaos.
Bengaluru woke up to chaos today morning as a night of relentless rain turned the city into a water park gone wrong. Thunder roared, lightning flashed, and the so-called ‘Silicon City’ looked more like Venice by dawn.

In Electronics City, the downpour was so fierce that water reached knee-level in several areas. Neeladri Nagar’s ground-floor shops were flooded, leaving shopkeepers helpless as water gushed inside. Residents described it as “Varuna’s rage unleashed.”
Over at Panathur, the story was no different. The roads looked more like rivers, vehicles floated, stalled, and struggled to find a way out. With half-dug roads and half-broken diversions, drivers were caught between potholes and puddles.
Meanwhile, Hosa Road lived up to its infamous reputation, potholes danced under headlights as vehicles bounced and swayed through the night. Ironically, this is the same road Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had inspected just days ago, asking officials to “fix the craters and potholes.” The rain clearly had other plans.

In Varthur, the scene was straight out of a flood movie, water everywhere, and riders praying their vehicles would survive. And Marathahalli and Sarjapur Road? Complete gridlock. Cars stood bumper-to-bumper for kilometres, while frustrated commuters sighed, “Just reach home somehow!”
