The fifth metro train has arrived at Hebbagodi depot from Kolkata, promising smoother operations on the Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line with reduced wait times for commuters.
Bengaluru’s metro commuters have a reason to cheer as the fifth train for the Yellow Line has officially reached the Hebbagodi depot. The new coaches, transported from Kolkata, mark another key step in expanding capacity and improving service frequency on the city’s bustling Yellow Line corridor.

Currently, the Yellow Line is being operated with just four trains, resulting in a waiting time of 19 minutes for passengers. With the induction of the fifth train, the frequency will improve to every 15 minutes, significantly reducing congestion and wait times for daily riders.
Officials confirmed that the newly arrived train will undergo mandatory trial runs and safety checks before it is cleared for passenger operations. Once the green signal is given, the fifth train will immediately join service, offering commuters a much smoother travel experience.
