The sixth driverless train for the Yellow Line has left Titagarh and will reach Hebbagodi depot by the end of November, bringing faster frequencies for commuters.
Bengaluru Metro commuters on the Yellow Line are set to receive another boost as the sixth train for the corridor is now on its way to the city. The three-coach driverless train was dispatched today from Titagarh Rail Systems Limited in Kolkata and is expected to reach the Hebbagodi metro depot by the end of November.
The addition comes just weeks after Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) introduced the fifth driverless train into service. Officials say the sixth train will help bring down the long waiting time currently experienced by passengers.

At present, the Yellow Line operates with five trains, resulting in a headway of around 15 to 17 minutes. With the sixth train joining the fleet, the frequency is expected to improve significantly, reducing waiting time to 12 to 13 minutes, offering faster and smoother travel during peak hours.
Metro officials confirmed that all bogies of the new train have left Titagarh and will be assembled and tested once they reach Bengaluru. The improved frequency is expected to particularly benefit daily commuters travelling between RV Road and Bommasandra, where ridership has steadily increased since services began.
