Freshly asphalted stretch near VIBGYOR School in Mahadevapura breaks apart within weeks, triggering public anger and allegations of misuse of taxpayer money.
A freshly asphalted stretch near VIBGYOR School in Mahadevapura has fallen apart barely a month after being laid, setting off strong public outrage and raising serious questions about the quality of civic work in the area. What was presented as a newly upgraded, shiny blacktop has now cracked, peeled and disintegrated, exposing the surface beneath and leaving commuters frustrated.
Residents and local activists inspected the damaged portions and pointed out that the asphalt layer has come off in chunks, almost as if it had been washed away. They argued that the work appeared so weak that the road surface could be lifted by hand in several places, indicating a total failure in construction standards.

Members of the Aam Aadmi Party, who visited the location, criticised the condition of the road and accused officials and contractors of wasting taxpayers’ money. They highlighted that basic procedures had not been followed, potholes were not properly filled before the asphalt was applied, the edges of the road lacked proper finishing, and the overall surface quality did not support smooth movement of vehicles. According to them, the damage within such a short time is not an accident but a sign of “100% corruption.”

Commuters in the Mahadevapura zone have questioned who is accountable for the freshly built road collapsing so quickly, pointing fingers at local representatives and senior civic authorities. Many argued that the incident amounts to cheating the public, as their money has been spent on a project that barely survived a few weeks.

The spot, which was expected to ease traffic in the busy school zone, has instead turned into another example of substandard execution. With the road now damaged again, concerns over safety, repeated expenses and lack of monitoring have resurfaced.
