Social media buzzes with witty critiques of the city’s potholes and garbage woes, as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah instructs swift repairs and road modernisation.
The city’s potholes and garbage woes have become a viral talking point as residents flood social media with sharp, humorous critiques. One post quipped, “Only the potholes are 100% local,” highlighting how the city’s infrastructure problems seem permanent.
Users drew comparisons to terminal illness, with one remarking, “Bangalore is now a stage 4 cancer patient. Invasive potholes have metastasized everywhere. No surgery can save the patient. In response, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed GBA Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao to ensure all potholes are filled within a week. He also ordered a fresh layer of tar and the start of white-topping and road modernisation during a ground-breaking ceremony (gudli puja) in Gandhinagar, one of Bengaluru’s oldest areas. The CM assured continued investment in infrastructure to support the city’s rapidly growing population.
