Shockingly, the K.R. Market police initially filed a case against the woman, ignoring her complaints and taking no action against the assailant. The blatant negligence sparked outrage among local activists, who questioned why police penalized the victim while the shop owner faced no immediate consequences.
As media coverage of the incident spread, the authorities acted. City Market police arrested Umed Ram and accomplice Mahendra Sharma late at night and sent them for judicial custody. Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh has directed police to treat the case with the utmost seriousness, ensuring proper investigation and justice.
