Basaveshwaranagar Police arrested Bengaluru University Director Mylarappa after a woman accused him of repeatedly harassing her and pressuring her for a physical relationship.
Tension prevailed in Bengaluru after Bengaluru University Director Mylarappa was arrested by Basaveshwaranagar Police on charges of harassing a woman and allegedly pressuring her to engage in a physical relationship.

According to police sources, the woman lodged a complaint alleging that Mylarappa had been harassing her for several days. The accused reportedly called her multiple times, insisting that she “cooperate” with him and even visited her residence, demanding that she open the door and speak to him.
Unable to bear the harassment, the woman filed a complaint at Basaveshwaranagar Police Station, leading to a case being registered against him. Police confirmed that Mylarappa was taken into custody soon after preliminary inquiry.

In addition, a second case was reportedly filed at the Kamakshipalya Police Station, where the accused was charged with issuing threats to the same woman after she filed her first complaint.
Officials said that investigation is underway and further details will be revealed once the inquiry concludes.
