From strict entry and exit routes to AI-based CCTV surveillance, Bengaluru Police roll out a massive security and traffic management plan for New Year celebrations across Brigade Road, MG Road and Church Street.

With just hours left for the New Year, Bengaluru Police have put in place extensive security and traffic arrangements across the city’s busiest celebration zones, especially Brigade Road, MG Road and Church Street.

Police have deployed heavy security across central Bengaluru, with strict monitoring of crowd movement. Entry and exit points have been clearly defined to prevent congestion and ensure public safety. Bags and sharp objects are completely banned, and people are urged to cooperate with security checks.

Separate pathways have been created for women and families, while all others will be allowed to move only through designated Brigade Road routes. Emergency vehicles will be given free movement at all times.

Entry and exit regulations

Visitors heading to MG Road must enter via Anil Kumble Circle near the LIC Building. Those coming to Church Street should use the K.C. Das Road route.

For Brigade Road, entry is permitted through Kaveri Junction, Anil Kumble Junction and Trinity Junction. People heading towards Mayo Hall can access it through MG Road or Kaveri Junction. Entry from Kaveri Junction to Brigade Road will be allowed only once, and all exits must be taken via Opera Junction.

Movement from Brigade Road towards Church Street will not be permitted. Kamaraj Road will be fully closed from the evening onwards.
Traffic restrictions

From 8 pm to 1 am, vehicular movement will be completely restricted on Brigade Road, Church Street, and the stretch from Anil Kumble Circle to Mayo Hall and Museum Road.

Surveillance and command centre

Over 6,000 CCTV cameras have been installed across the area at intervals of 50 to 100 metres. These include AI-based cameras capable of advanced monitoring. All camera feeds will be watched live at a temporary command centre set up inside a private hotel on Brigade Road.
